This house on the Hudson River consisted of a c. 1790 Dutch sandstone colonial with a c. 1885 Victorian addition at the street side of the house. In order to meet the clients’ program of a master suite, great room/kitchen and home gym, as well as multiple doors, windows and balconies to take advantage of the spectacular views, the sandstone portion of the house was extended (using locally quarried stone) towards the east and a wood-framed Victorian-style extension was added. This arrangement also allowed for the creation of a screened porch and a porte-cochere.
